A neutral third party (the mediator) helps the parties in a dispute try to reach a mutually acceptable outcome. The mediator assists the parties in focusing on legitimate interests, overcoming impediments to reaching an agreement and bringing the dispute to closure.
Workplace Investigations occur after a formal complaint has been made identifying concerns between individuals. An investigation may be general (for example, identifying the sources and scope of "poisonous workplace" attitudes and practices) or specific (for example investigating a specific allegation of sexual harassment).
Arbitration services are scheduled at the request of the parties or as a third party requirement to arbitrate the dispute. Each of the parties has an opportunity to make presentations after which the arbitrator assesses the merits of the presentations and produces a decision that imposes closure to the dispute.
